What are you going to do with a ______ major?
Are you being asked that question? Choosing a major can
be overwhelming, but the reality is a major does not always
determine your career. While some majors are intended to
lead to specioc career paths, many majors leave the door
open for you to choose from endless possibilities.
College is about more than preparing for a specioc job.
It is about developing skills and preparing for success in
your personal and professional life, something which many
diferent majors can help you achieve.
Tips for Finding a Major That Fits Your Interests and Goals:
1. Your major is not your identity.
Choosing a major is a chance to explore your interests, learn discipline-specioc knowledge, and develop valuable
skills, but it9s just one piece of your multifaceted identity. Be curious and explore diferent oelds with an open
mind.
2. A major does not define your career path for the rest of your life.
The skills you gain in your major can be applied to many jobs, including jobs you might not know about and ones
that don9t even exist yet.
3. Pick a major with classes that sound exciting to you.
